Chachu Special Chutney: A Taste of Tradition, a flavorful and tangy chutney that brings back the essence of traditional Indian flavors. This chutney is versatile and can be served with a variety of dishes, from snacks to main courses.
Ingredients
1 cup fresh coriander leaves (cilantro), chopped
1/2 cup fresh mint leaves, chopped
2-3 green chilies, chopped (adjust to taste)
1-inch piece of ginger, peeled and chopped
2 garlic cloves
1 small onion, chopped
1 medium tomato, chopped
1 tablespoon roasted peanuts or roasted gram (optional, for thickness)
1 teaspoon cumin seeds (jeera)
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon sugar (optional, to balance the flavors)
Salt to taste
Water as needed
Instructions
1. Prepare the Ingredients:
Wash the coriander and mint leaves thoroughly. Roughly chop them and set aside.
Chop the green chilies, ginger, garlic, onion, and tomato.
2. Blend the Chutney:
In a blender or food processor, add the chopped coriander leaves, mint leaves, green chilies, ginger, garlic, onion, tomato, and roasted peanuts (if using).
Add cumin seeds, lemon juice, sugar (if using), and salt.
Blend the ingredients until you achieve a smooth consistency. Add a little water as needed to help blend the chutney, but make sure it’s not too runny.
3. Adjust the Flavors:
Taste the chutney and adjust the salt, lemon juice, or sugar according to your preference.
4. Serve:
Transfer the chutney to a serving bowl and serve it fresh with your favorite snacks like pakoras, samosas, or as a condiment with main dishes like parathas, rice, or curries.
5. Store:
Chachu Special Chutney can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.
